Magic Pony

If you're looking for a gift for the quirky collector in your life, look no further than Magic Pony. They have a variety of designer toys, locally designed jewellry, art books and graphic novels, and screen printed t-shirts to choose from. My mom collects tiny designer chairs, and this is where I go to get them. The rear of the store is also a gallery where local artists are showcased. The work is also available for purchase; I have my eye on the slipcast porcelain owl lamp by Coe & Waito.

quite possibly the quirkiest store in the greater toronto area. there is nothing like a stop into magic pony to get your imagination going. there is a ridiculous selection of plush animals, rubber figurines of little monsters and a pretty interesting assortment of creative reads. the back of the store is a really serene gallery promoting local talent. if you dont have time to stop in, magic pony is the place to do some window shopping. room #204 by toronto designer Scott Eunson.

they have a nice selection of art, books, vinyl toys (including kid robot!) that I'd rather not pay shipping from the US if I'd order them online.

Most days, I have to stay the hell away from this place because I could spend my entire paycheck buying things that are neither rent nor groceries. All the Ugly Dolls, Gloomy Bears and Malfis in the world won’t feed me. Unless I ate them, I suppose. Hmm. I digress: occasionally I let myself mosey along Queen West just to see the groovy art exhibits on display in the back of the store. macs are cool but all white is boring. They have gel skins by cool artists in neat designs.

They stock cool Japanese imported Nintendo and Star Wars stuff!

This place is chock full of cool little toys for the adult who grew up reading comic books or tagging their parents garage and is now the Creative Director at a design studio.

the little monsters are really cute. The buttons are the only thing I can afford with my allowance.

They are not the boring old teddy bears, They're little monsters. Even though they are kind of creepy they are really awsome and cute.
