Another great independent bookstore worth checking out, this place stocks plenty of interesting specialty titles as well as the best of more mainstream fare, and boasts helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have great window displays, showcasing neato books around ever-changing themes, that always pull me in off the sidewalk. Great for creative gifts, self-treating or a browsalicious stop on a weekend wander.

Pandemonium is rather awesome. The first store I felt at home in since moving here from BC. Also simply an excellent store as far merchandise goes.

A independent local bookstore on Avenue Road with a nice selection of books. Plus I love any place with "half price" in their name.

Radical reading in a cozy atmosphere--what more could a girl want? This warm, non-profit shop offers a wide selection of literature from the empowering to the indulgent. TWB is more than a community bookstore, it's a safe space that welcomes and nurtures the beautiful diversity of our city. Feminist and anti-oppression politics are promoted through book offerings, community events and unique courses.

How can you walk past Pages and not go inside? I want everything. I'll have to settle for some things. On frequent occasions.

I have a full set of the weirdest 19th century Scottish lithographs from this place. They feature giants, and demons, and weeping lassies. It is a cabinet of curiosities. And worth exploring.

It's kind of a wonderland. I'm hooked on the independent bookstores of the city, and this one makes me unbendy.

I know I have a lot of bookstore faves - I really like books - but I couldn't resist adding another. I don't know how I walked passed this store so many times without going in. Everything about it is perfect, right down to the graphic damask print on the walls. They have a well chosen collection of books with a great selection of design and children's books.

I usually try to buy used books, but when I can't wait for a new release (usually McSweeney's) they always have it here. The upstairs space usually has some great readings and events also.

While small, Pandemonium has several great finds and the prices are hard to beat. They also have a sweet record, DVD and CD collection.
