their bagels are made fresh on-site every morning. The tomazzao bagel is delicious toasted with light butter. The cream cheese is also made on-site and ranges in flavours: strawberry, feta & spinach, cucumber, spinach and vegatables, etc!
Toronto's bagels have a tendency to be more of a bun than a bagel. I'm no lover of Montreal, but there they get bagels. This is the closest in TO to Montreal, and proper style, bagels. Texture is dense but not a teeth puller and right amount of saltiness! Dee-lish!
Mmmm... steamy windows! The bagels are so hot and fresh that the windows are always damp. Love it. The shop on Eglinton is tops, but the St Lawrence Market stand will do in a pinch. The bagels are amazing Montreal-style: small, chewy, sweet and dense. Perfection.
it brings back memories of waking up on Sunday morning, opening my front door, and sitting there would be a bag of steaming hot bagels that my grandfather dropped off before any of us woke up! That, and it's the best bagel in the world. Fluffy, crunchy, salty, and toasty all in the right places. Try the weird little pizzas, too.
Put a bagel from these guys next to a real Montreal bagel, trust me, nobody could tell them apart.
delicious chewy Montreal style bagels, inexpensive and fresh!
you can get them hot from the oven
I love watching the baker put the raw bagels into the brick oven and what I like even more is eating a warm fresh bagel. I do wish this city would wake up and make Bialys as well. New York and the entire eastern seaboard makes them. You can find Bialys anywhere a good bagel is sold. Wake up Toronto, give us Bialys!
Did you know that the Bloor Court Market has Bagel House delivering fresh, Montreal-style bagels every day? Well, now you do. There is no need to suffer the indignity of sub-par bagels any longer, Bloorcourt dwellers!
These are the closest bagels to Montreal bagels you can find in the city. Sooooo yummy! My favourite is sesame seed, with poppy seed being a close second. Get there early on weekends - they sell out of the most popular kind by late afternoon (sometimes early afternoon!).
I got tired of Gryffe's and have returned to the Montreal style bagel!
Montreal bagels are the only way to go! These are the closest you can find in TO.
The best Montreal Style Bagels www.thebagelhouse.ca - the owners worked for many years at St. Viateur and Fairmont in Montreal before coming to Toronto
They are the best authentic Montreal bagels and are still warm when you order them.
Free bagels on your birthday!
authentic montreal bagels!
there is one near me and the bagels are as good as any of the other places I tried.
montreal may have perfected the bagel, but this find is right here in toronto. get em hot out of the oven.
