theres a wide selection of food from different asian heritages. For me though, it brings back memories of High School life when eating at First Markham Place cause my friends and I were all short on cash :P

You can't get better Korean food anywhere in the city for this price. Try the Yummy special if you're man enough to consume 6 lbs of meat in one sitting.

their vegetarian platter is only $7.99 and serves two! The decor is interesting with an eclectic crowd - a mix of students and locals. Great ethiopian food! It's cheaper to eat here than to eat at home.

A combo platter of savoury Ethiopian veg and meat dishes for 4, with ample injira and a litre of wine rings in at 50 bucks. Short on ambiance, but long on taste, this place is perfect for a good feed and a chat when you don't want to cook but aren't looking for anything fancy.

Have you seen the quantity of really good, fresh food they bring you? Bring your own tupperware because you're going to need it. Small soup, rice and one dish (~$13 total) will easily serve two with some to take home.

The food is wonderfully fresh and reasonably healthy, which is nice for cheap food. The beer is also cheap, if somewhat warm in the summer. But I can't say I go for the service (which is friendly, but sparse). The Green Room up the street at Bloor & Brunswick has a similar menu and prices (same owners).

I kid you not, breakfast for like $4 bucks! Also, cheap avocado salad, sandwiches, all kinds of good things, they always use fresh ingredients--which is what i'm always wary of when the food is cheap. You won't be disappointed!

Very casual to the point of feeling a bit dirty...but delicious burritos, amazing guacamole and very low prices. Excellent if you're a student looking for a quick meal or a night out.

the falafel, fries, and a pop is only 5 dollars. It's really good - and while the service isn't amazingly prompt, it sure is friendly.

A small cafe, a serving a great $5 all day breakfast with no frills, just good portions of food. It always reminds me of this place - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Soup_Nazi .
