Stem Open Kitchen

I really appreciate the simplicity and kitsch of a real-deal diner. Stem hasn't changed a thing in decades, and that's as it should be. Sliced chicken on toasted brown with lettuce, mayo and a pickle on the side is my perfect nostalgia sandwich. A booth or counter seat here is a great place to get down to basics, or even business, if you happen to work nearby.

watching them work the grill is a great free perk. Plus, yummy diner food for cheap.

it's such a classic, greasy spoon diner. The only place that does my eggs exactly the way I like them - yolks hard at the edges, but soft in the middle. For a real treat, sit at the counter and watch the two cooks make everyone's breakfast, keeping all the orders straigtht in their heads. These guys are pros.
