Favourite things at R-shop

It's perfect in all ways: Impossibly sweet service; delicious, wholesome contemporary Japanese cafe food; and fantastic atmosphere (really, what do you expect from a King West furniture store/cafe combo). It's almost too close to my home and work. It's delightfully and dangerously tempting.

High quality modern dsigner style furniture at very reasonable prices, forget IKEA.

The people are always so nice. You may pass by it and notice the window side counter, but you'd be surprised that some reasonably priced furniture actually lurks behind the modern comfort Japanese food. The cafe is only open during the week but will be extending its hours to Saturdays soon. Love the deal on my couch and love the chicken katsu don. A match made in comfort heaven.

delightful slice of Japanese urban life. It feels like you are in Tokyo (although I have never been). Great healthy choices, lots of brown rice, salad rolls etc. They have a couple places to sit and an incredible selection of slick design magazines for while you wait for your food. Great hidden gem.
