My number one criteria for a weekend brunch spot is walkability. I love Mitzi's proximity to my digs, as well as its excellent collection of vintage formica tables, tree-shaded outdoor seating in view of a great residential street, bike parking galore, and always-delicous menu of specials built around market-fresh produce. The service can be slow, but if you can take your mind off your watch (isn't that what weekends are for?), and focus on your food and friends, you're sure to enjoy your stay.

I just had the most delicious dish there from their specials list. It was poached eggs, on a sweet potato biscuit, with a roasted red pepper drizzle. AMAZING!!!

I can show up with bedhead, and if I don't like their weekend poached eggs recipe (which I get 90% of the time), I can always fall back on their unparalleled pancake (... that's right, just one big fat oatmeal pancake).
