the steak is cooked to perfection - and the staff don't scoff at you when you ask for ketchup - which by the way is a must for steak frites.. in case you were wondering.

its greasy, its salty and its crispy. all that and you get to sit in a styley restaurant where the waiters usually understand you if you accidentally speak french.

there's nothing like nibbling on an authentic croque madame by a warm fireplace to transport you back to that perfect Parisian holiday. Don't do completely like the French: tone down the snootiness & just embrace the manufactured fabulousness. You don't just have to take my word--last time I was there, I witnessed Anna Olson of 'Sugar' fame sitting across from my table with her chef hubby Michael, quietly enjoying a meal, which quickly inspired their compliments to the chef.

Atlantic mussels are served in a heavenly combo of quebec ale and bacon sauce that begs to be soaked up by Le Select's fresh-out-of-the-oven bread. I especially love the unpretentious bistro/saloon atmosphere where kinda-fancy meets very-authentic.
