Faves (87)
Joe's Cafe
1150 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
Fave Picture Anyone else just a bit intimidated by all of the old Italian men? Maybe I've watched too many mob movies and also why I love this place's atmosphere! Also used as a location in the Douglas Coupland movie 'Everything's Gone Green' according to their website and they sell merch - what a great gift for your homesick buddy living in Toronto or Phoenix or wherever...

False Creek Ferries/Aquabus
board by the aquatic centre under Burrard Bridge, Vancouver
Fave Picture I also just found out that, after you spend some time at Granville Island you can re-board the boat and complete the entire circuit for an affordable little mini cruise! They also have charters - how fun would it be to book the boat and have a private cruise? Anyone want to dress up as pirates and terrorize False Creek for about half an hour? Yay!

Candy Aisle
2083 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
Fave Picture if you have European or Aussie parents or relatives they brought you weird, delicious and wonderful treats when you were a kid. Now you can go savour those childhood memories and satisfy your sweet (or sour) tooth at the same time....

The Flying Beaver Bar and Grill
4760 Inglis Drive, Richmond
Enjoy a drink and/or meal here before getting on a float plane or just go there anyways, because: 1) Awesome name 2) Basic but good pub food 3) Watch float planes take off and land 4) Beautiful sunsets.

Uncle Herbert's
main strip in Ladner, Ladner
Traditional Brit style fish n chips menu. Very Coronation Street style decorating. Worth the drive when you are craving the real thing.

Locarno Beach
West of Trimble to Tolmie Street on Northwest Marine Drive, Vancouver
Fave Picture Always seems less busy and more relaxed than the rest of the beaches on this side but still has the conveniences (concession, washroom, seasonal lifeguarding). Also you are allowed to bbq here and there is free parking. Woo hoo!

Fave Picture It's called the 'Vegetarian Goat Cheese Terrine' and it's layers of avocodo, sundried tomato, grilled portabella, zucchini, artichoke, potato and goat cheese all molded into a square served on a plate with naan. It is so good I get it every single time I go there.

Planet Bingo
2655 Main Street, Vancouver
Get that small town feel right in the big city any time you feel like it. Or, get high tech by going upstairs - you can play Bingo on video terminals (touch screen, even!).

The Eatery
3431 West Broadway, Vancouver
Fave Picture 1) Cheeky name (The Sake2me) 2) Tasty! Cranberry and some other stuff I can't remember. Mmmmm. 3) Served in an ice-cold stainless steel martini glass

Seven Seas Floating Seafood Restaurant
3707 Dollarton Highway, North Vancouver
Fave Picture It's a big old boat and pretty cool. It's been around forever. It's walking distance from the seabus and they also offer moorage for customers. Apparently the ship used to be one of the North Van ferries...
