Re: Fave espresso at Manic Coffee

i heard this place rocks. In fact, our developer's cousin owns it - I must try it soon since it is in the hood and the owner is known to be a huge coffee geek ( in the most positive of ways).

Hey Pema! I just noticed you my friend! Was putting together some cold weather faves for toronto.com, and was checking out your espresso-pinion, and noticed it was you! HI! Nice to see ya here. And I share all your faves, but have never tried Manic, so I think I'll need to take your word and go there. : )

Manic Coffee
426 College St, Toronto
Manic is the espresso lovers coffee shop. They use Intelligentsia beans (http://www.intelligentsiacoffee.com/), which I haven't been able to get since leaving Vancouver, and the baristas assemble their drinks with great pride. I think I actually recognize one of the baristas from Cafe Artigiano in Vancouver - which serves quite possibly the best espresso coffee in the country. If you love espresso, go here. Quickly!

Swan
892 Queen W, Toronto
Swan is right accross the road from home so we go there a lot. The menu is small and meat centric, but very good. The oysters are fresh and fabulous and the wine list is good. The real reason we like Swan so much though is the service - consistently fantastic.
