matyg's fave Sunday brunch, once upon a time is at Victory Cafe because 2 eggs, bacon (or the occasional fruit salad), homefries and beans don't get better. They just don't. Sunday, circa noon, is my time though....called it. Unfortunately, Victory does not serve brunch any longer (who knows why?!?!?!?!?!).

matyg's fave Breakfast is at Steve's because This greasy spoon at Bathurst and Wilson is a must-visit, especially now that Victory Cafe has inexplicably shut down their brunch. I know the two are not even close in proximity, but if you're ever up in the area, you gotta go.

matyg's fave Twister Bagel is at Kiva's Bagel Bakery & Restaurant because While I despise actually eating at this joint, picking up their twister bagels was a daily thing for me at a point. I still prefer them over any other in the city, but don't get up there as much as I once did. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend picking up some bagels to go - you won't be disappointed.

matyg's fave chicken shawarma is at Ghazale because For a year and a half, I refused to eat here out of fear that my experience might ruin the temptation I get everytime I walk by them (best smell in the city, possibly world). Finally, I decided to give it a shot, and my life was changed on the eve of May 12, 2008. This spot has now become a staple in my late-night routine (along with everyone else in Toronto, apparently).

matyg's fave French Toast is at Butler's Pantry because The servings are huge and reasonably priced, the service is great, and the french toast is convered in tons of fresh fruit. All combined, the experience simply cannot be beat.

matyg's fave burrito is at Utopia Cafe & Grill because Best chicken and shrimp burrito ever. Don't believe me? Try it yourself! Be forewarned, however: there are always lines at prime (and even off) times and the service is a little slow (although very nice), but the product is well worth the wait. Prices are extremely reasonable.

matyg's fave baseball card store is at Legends Of The Game because While I grew up on Sluggers in Thornhill, Legends of the Game was a frequent visit after a Jays game at the Dome. While currently a shade of its former self, I can't help but feel nostalgic everytime I step foot in the store, and I feel like an 10-year old again when opening up dozens of packs of cards (all of which have no value these days, other than setimental).

matyg's fave grilled calamari is at Banfi because The grilled calamari is done to perfection here, and is a great appetizer to accompany a solid Italian meal. Although there are other pizzas and pastas I prefer in the city, nobody's calami comes close!

matyg's fave falafal is at Tov Li because By far and away the best falafel in the city. Its a little out of the way for those who live downtown (located on Bathurst, north of Lawrence), but well worth the trek.

matyg's fave concert venue is at Massey Hall because Every seat is an amazing seat in this intimate, legendary concert setting. While I'd rather see an outdoor concert in the summer, I still get excited when I see that one of my favourite bands is coming to town and playing at Massey Hall!

matyg's fave bowling alley is at newtonbrook bowlerama because Located just north of Toronto, at Yonge and Finch, many childhood days were spent at this bowling alley, and even now I'll make the trek back up north for a few frames. Your best bet is to go at night, for cosmic bowling, when the black lights are out, making for a wicked awesome time.
