I think that it's the perfect size for watching a documentary or foreign film. It has the feel of an independent cinema, and they play small and large-release films. The theatres spaces are small and intimate.

elizzio's fave Tamales and Pupusas is at Latin American Emporium (243 Augusta)

elizzio's fave Tamales and Pupusas is at Latin American Emporium (243 Augusta) because I've been eating there for a few years. Although it's a bit of a wait to get served, has little eating space, and gets chilly in the winter, it's still my favourite. Although you can get the same foods at two or three other stores on the block, I find these taste the best. While I wait, I love browsing the unfamiliar ingredients on the shelves...

elizzio's fave Panzerotto is at Bitondo Pizzeria

elizzio's fave Panzerotto is at Bitondo Pizzeria because It contains so much cheese that you feel like you're going to choke with every bite. The place has pasta e fagioli on the menu. To me it feels like I imagine Little Italy did when it was still Italian.

elizzio's fave Pizza slice is at MASSIMO'S, college street

elizzio's fave Pizza slice is at MASSIMO'S, college street because It's simple and delicious. Extra greasy and extra thin, the Margherita is my slice of choice. Before the restaurant makeover, it had oldschool "Italian" charm with newspaper articles framed on the wall (I never figured out why Susan Aglukark was so prominently featured) and checkered plastic tablecloths. I haven't been in since they got their new look, but if the pizza tastes the same, I'll definitely go back.

elizzio's fave fine dining - Japanese is at Kaiseki Sakura

elizzio's fave fine dining - Japanese is at Kaiseki Sakura because They use high-quality ingredients, and they present the dishes artistically. Their 5 course vegetarian tasting menu was incredible. Panko shrimp with yuzu foam, whole wasabi root, adzuki-green tea cheesecake and too many other delicious ingredients and garnishes to mention. A great place for a special occasion.

elizzio's fave Japanese Restaurant not serving Sushi is at Okonomi House

elizzio's fave Japanese Restaurant not serving Sushi is at Okonomi House because Okonomiyaki are an underappreciated, simple Japanese dish. This restaurant has the look and feel of a small family restaurant or bar in Japan. The okonomiyaki are delicious and can be made vegetarian, the green tea is delicious and cheap. A great place to go before a matinee at the varsity or cumberland.

elizzio's fave Pho is at Pho Hung Vietnamese Restaurant

elizzio's fave Pho is at Pho Hung Vietnamese Restaurant because Their soups are huge, their fried veggie spring rolls taste like chicken wings, and they have frog and knuckle on the menu.

elizzio's fave bar is at Embassy

elizzio's fave bar is at Embassy because I've had some great conversations there, listened to deejays and live acts there, watched world cup soccer there, met a ton of strangers there, and they have modest but delicious selection of food and drink.

elizzio's fave vegetarian breakfast is at get real ossington

elizzio's fave vegetarian breakfast is at get real ossington because Although I don't know if it's still open, I had several wonderful vegetarian brunches there over the summer. It's decorated in light colours, has a serve-yourself coffee bar and does a great scrambled tofu.

elizzio's fave Veggie burger is at Utopia Cafe & Grill

elizzio's fave Veggie burger is at Utopia Cafe & Grill because I haven't been disappointed with any of their vegetarian sandwiches. They do a great veggie chicken club, substituting the bacon for grilled eggplant. Their veggie souvlaki and veggie burger are hard to beat, and portions are huge.

elizzio's fave coffee shop is at Moonbean Coffee Company

elizzio's fave coffee shop is at Moonbean Coffee Company because I feel comfortable there. They make a decent soy latte, and it's a great place to read a book or meet a friend on a quiet day.

elizzio's fave bookstore is at Ten Editions Books

elizzio's fave bookstore is at Ten Editions Books because I can spend quite a while in the back of the store looking at their children's books and canadiana, and leafing through the card catalogue of old postcards, photographs and buttons.

elizzio's fave japanese grocery store is at Sanko Trading Co.

elizzio's fave japanese grocery store is at Sanko Trading Co. because They have an automated greeting machine at the door that makes you feel just like you're in Japan.
