I can't even tell you how excited I get about the fresh multigrain bagels. If I were a badly trained puppy, I'd probably pee a little bit.

alexconalas's fave Coffee Substitute is at Dandelion Blend by Swiss Natural Sources

alexconalas's fave Coffee Substitute is at Dandelion Blend by Swiss Natural Sources because The stuff is made from a blend of roasted dandelion, barley, beet, rye, & chicory root and tastes amazing with a bit of milk (reg, soy, almond, whatever) and honey. I've gotten everyone at work hooked! It's naturally caffeine-free (you're too wired anyway, honey) and it also happens to be a blood cleanser and a liver tonic! Let me tell you, it's my cuppa. The blends with dandelion tend to be a bit pricier, but the chicory based ones taste almost as good for half the price. Both at Big Carrot.

alexconalas's fave cheap health food-type groceries is at Strictly Bulk

alexconalas's fave cheap health food-type groceries is at Strictly Bulk because At the sake of quoting Captain Beat-a-dead-horse, WOULD YA LOOK AT THOSE FOOD PRICES?! If being a consumer of organic/health food is old news to you, you're probably used to paying the premium for comestibles, but maybe the recent food price spike is hitting you extra hard. So far, this is the most reasonable place I've found to shop for your health food basics. It also has a good selection of natural cleaning products, so you can have a clean toilet, AND a clean environmental conscience! WINK!

alexconalas's fave place to get re-aligned is at Toronto Healing Arts Centre

alexconalas's fave place to get re-aligned is at Toronto Healing Arts Centre because After a couple of unlucky bicycle accidents that left me not only resentful of street car tracks but also fairly out-of-line, I had this place recommended to me. Specifically, Dr.Nicholas Ashfield (chiro) is wonderful and unlike most traditional doctors, has a refreshing holistic approach to treatments. He attends to the physical primarily, but also focuses on the energy channels & the psyche in relation to an injury. Oh, and you'll also see results pretty quickly. Must be all the magic.

alexconalas's fave place to spend a rainy afternoon is at The Clay Room (279 Danforth @ Chester)

alexconalas's fave place to spend a rainy afternoon is at The Clay Room (279 Danforth @ Chester) because If you have any creative inklings, this is a great place for both artsy kids and grown-ups who miss the arts'n'crafts corner in primary school. They have a wide selection of gigantic mugs, plates, vases, etc that you can decorate however you like! A great activity that is the perfect blend between relaxation and effort, during which you'll find your tongue sticking out the corner of your mouth in concentration on a number of occasions...but who doesn't like the excuse to stick your tongue out??

alexconalas's fave place to get groceries is at Big Carrot Natural Food Market

alexconalas's fave place to get groceries is at Big Carrot Natural Food Market because not only is the entire atmosphere totally different from a regular grocery store (shopping becomes an "experience" rather than a "chore") but you can find a huge & wonderful variety of eclectic, ethical, and most of all delicious food, plus the little "pharmacy" attached is a great place to find yummy smelling natural products to rub all over your bod. AND, as a bonus, the cashiers tend to be pretty rad-looking (rad= interesting bordering on weird).
