this place is like a second womb really. Float in salt water or steep in green tea. Leave feeling brand new again.

Lovely little indie bookshop just across from Trinity Bellwoods - open about a year, great selection of books, magazines and gift items. Friendly staff who will always help you find just the right thing for your reading pleasure.

There is a reason why this place always has a line-up outside the door - it is soooo good. Stop in for a bowl of latte and some fresh baguette.

A trip to this massive emporium of Chinese bite-size treasures is a treat. Cart service, and an evening dim sum menu are rounded out with discount happy hours. From the shumai, to the ha gow, to the chinese broccoli, stuffed beancurd skin and curried squid - everything is delicious, hardly greasy, and served with care and stealth (I defy you to notice each time one of your baskets is whisked away). Also, the jasmine tea is actually delicious - no dishwater tea here.

Fantastic new twist on fish and chips, your choice of batter. I had the jerk batter, it was really good, next time I plan to try the cajun batter. Choice of regular or sweet potato fries as well. Very friendly people running the place too.

Such a hidden gem in the heart of Scarborough, I live nearby, so have taken the opportunity of walking through there about a million times. The grounds are like nothing I've ever seen. For years a group of artists lived in the Inn, while they were there, any time they noticed a beautiful building slated for demolition they would send a truck and rescue part of the building, so as you walk through, you will find massive pillars, beautiful archways, statues, all in the middle of a forrest.

this new Distillery District gem is the biggest spa in Canada, and without a doubt the best in Toronto. Totally holistic, amazingly beautiful facility, full full service, and great business philosophy.

The most delicious, creamy lattes I've ever had. It's ruined me for coffee anywhere else. The chocolate biscotti and scones are also amazing! It's one of my very favourite places.

The all day breakfast is only $7 and includes scrambled eggs, home fries, multi-grain toast and the most insane bacon ever. I strayed from this item once and regretted it. Never again.

sugar is sooooo much better than waxing! The sugar paste doesn't adhere to skin, so it only removes the hair - not your skin. Plus, they remove the sugar in the direction of your hair growth, so that means less ingrowns. Wax = ouch!

This is the most underground of underground theatres. There's something awesome going on every weekend, whether it's comedy/music/theatre. It's hard to find if you don't go with someone who "knows". There's also a resident cat, who may try to cuddle during the show.

Get it mild with Ranch dressing and you'll be one happy little Torontonian. The Richmond Rogue is my favourite pub - and they serve Sterling, which is great for me cause I like my beer to be like water :) Don't judge me. Other great food there? The Vegetarian wrap and the Chicken Quesadillas.

I like the nice, cozy, almost untidy atmosphere of this store. Everything is in its proper place - a wide selection of needles and a fantastic stash of yarn - but there's no sense of teutonic order. Discoveries and magic still lurk in the bottom of the sale bin. Speaking of which, prices are good and the staff are friendly, willing to help you meet your gauge requirements, give pattern advice, talk shop about new brands or just shoot the breeze about coffee and cats. http://www.knitomatic.com/

Brainchild of the inimitable Dan Misener (of CBC radio's GO!), GURTTWaK is a delight. Last night's installment touched my funny bone, my heart, and the deepest recesses of my memory, and made me see we may all be connected by a collective cache of duotanged diaries, illustrated compositions, and laminated juvenalia masterworks, and the honest and unselfconcious imaginations and insights preserved within them.

it reminds me of my favorite store in the states, Anthropologie. Shabby Chic galore and uberfeminine home accessories. Everything has a vintage feel and a very "French country" vibe.
