Paula Howe-Harding
353 Prince Albert, Westmount
Fave Picture For over 20 years, London School of Fashion graduate Paula Howe-Harding has been running her tiny "contemporary stylish" consignment shop by word of mouth - only. As you may have guessed, she is very client focused, with several hundred profiles that include name, number, measurement, as well as information about personal style, and what colours suit each respective client. Howe-Harding is brutally honest, and good at what she does - just don't call her clothing "vintage".

Sabon NYC (Montreal)
5033 rue Sherbrooke W, Westmount
Fave Picture Great for Christmas/Mother's Day/Birthday gifts...or - let’s be honest - a treat for yourself. Well-informed staff on hand to help you try out a variety of products. Gifts are artfully wrapped and gift-sets are nicely arranged. Try best-seller lavender apple body scrub - the BEST solution to rough elbows and scaly winter skin.

Fave Picture Specializing in lino-cut relief printing, Toronto gal Kaite Muth creates the most lovely hand-made greeting cards and calendars - pretty enough to frame and hang on your wall. Available in Montreal at: Atelier Woodenapples, Tricot Quartier, and Vie de Campagne http://www.katiemuth.com/

Deja Porte - Ready to Wear Again
344 Ave Victoria, Westmount
Fave Picture As if the clever name weren't enough, this small consignment shop on Victoria, just a block away from the pricey boutiques on Sherbrooke, carries gently used designer duds: shoes, purses, coats, blouses, jeans, skirts and a small selection of eveningwear. On my preliminary scan, I glimpsed a Burberry trench, leather purse by Longchamp, as well as fab finds by Save the Queen, Lacoste, JCrew, BCBG, Prada and Marc by Marc Jacobs - need I say more?

Le Cafe Creme
357, avenue Victoria, Westmount
Fave Picture Support your local businesses! Who needs over-roasted, mass-produced chain-store coffee, when you can enjoy a nice latte on this quaint shop. Move out to the quiet patio in summertime, perfect for a little people-watching.

Abe & Mary's
4175 Jean Talon West (Corner of de la Savanne), Montreal
Fave Picture High-end men's and women's store specializing in North American brands including Eileen Fisher, Alice and Olivia, Elizabeth and James, Vince, Free City, and a variety of accessories and cool vintage finds (special note goes out to the vintage Chanel purse on the second floor - exquisite). Delicious treats from Dylan's Candy Bar adorn the shelves, and fresh coffee and cupcakes are available at the in-store cafe. *Note: best way to get here is Bus #92 to Jean-Talon and de la Savane

Villages des Valeurs - Jean-Talon
4906, rue Jean-Talon Ouest, Montreal
Fave Picture A little out of the way if you live downtown, but this location seems to have the BEST swag. On my first visit I found a Yves St. Laurent trench coat for $9.99 - need I say more? Also, I heard rumors there may be an Abe & Mary's outlet coming to this plaza...shhh...stay tuned.

Tealish
198 Walnut Avenue, Suite 2, Toronto
Fave Picture Specializing in a wide variety of loose leaf teas, Tealish is a small independent boutique in the Queen West area. Tasty products can be enjoyed in-store at the tea bar, at many local T Dot businesses (including FAB nail salon "Ten Spot") and for those of us out of town - they now have an online store! Toasty Almond tea latte knocks my socks off. Creamy caramel oolong is also a favourite, and for the true connoisseurs, Tealish offers "Orthodox" black and green teas, as well as pricey white teas

Fave Picture It may be Toronto based, but SDTC.com has great articles, hilarious writers, interesting subjects, thorough reviews and fascinating profiles that appeal to young women across the miles. Perfect for the mid-afternoon lull at work, or between studying sessions.

Oink Oink
1343 avenue Greene, Montreal
Fave Picture I fav this with a grain of salt, because I do think this store is overpriced and overindulgent, but they have a beautiful selection of children's books, as well as an awesome selection of Thomas the Tank Engine and Playmobile accessories.
