These are wonderful places to set up one's easel and sketch unique and beautiful areas. As a printmaker, I then take these sketches back to my studio where I use them to build a plate for my relief prints. This is a resource that is so accessible and lovely one can hardly believe it is right in the middle of our city!

This is a fun place to buy quality meats at very reasonable prices. You can get a lot of meats and sausages, pick out the exact pieces you want while noshing on one of their famous sausages on a bun. There is also a very good shope next store where they carry cheeses, meat pies, german delicacies and soaps, cosmetics etc. Just down a block there is a fresh produce place and right around the corner there is Pasqualles Cheese warehouse with a wonderful assortment of cheeses, crackers condiments

This is a terrific place to get fresh herbs, baby vegetables and all sorts of jams, sweet and savory condiments. do[[omg sauces and a huge assortment of hot sauces. It is also close to the Kingsway to the east and just north on another favorite destination...

Merlot is situated in the Kingsway where there are many wonderful shops both fashion and food. It is fun to walk this area and window shop, stop for a coffe either indoors or outdoors in the fine weather. Merlot has a cosy delightful room on the main floor and in the summer, a rooftop restaurant as well as the main dining room, with a delicious menu. This is a fun destination all year!

There are a number of first class galleries in the area so you can see a lot of art in one day.
