Merlot is situated in the Kingsway where there are many wonderful shops both fashion and food. It is fun to walk this area and window shop, stop for a coffe either indoors or outdoors in the fine weather.
Merlot has a cosy delightful room on the main floor and in the summer, a rooftop restaurant as well as the main dining room, with a delicious menu. This is a fun destination all year!
The restaurant is situated in an odd location, but the building is a cute, quaint little chateau. Chef Bangerter satisfies your palate with every course.

This is by far our favourite restaurant. We've celebrated five wedding anniversaries and assorted birthdays here. Jeff Dinan takes care of the front of the house in a masterful way. Pascale Ribreau is the outstanding chef. We've always had a lovely meal, been greeted warmly and treated wonderfully with every visit. An added bonus is that the place is so beautifully lit that everyone looks fabulous.
Fantastique home cooked french food nestled between 2 gas stations -- Great french onion soup and duck dishes. They even have frog legs, for those of you adventurous types.
the location itself is unpretentious, the service is warm and unstuffy, and the food is terrific. Get the mushrooms on brioche as an appetizer, and pretty well anything as a main.

it is incredible food, especially their steak frites, charming as hell - you feel like you are in a small French village and the best part is it is so unpretencious unlike most French restaurants in the city. My fave for sure!
