Indie Cafe

I actually have many fave indie cafes, but today, I love the Moonbeam. A wide array house-roasted organic and fair trade coffee, over 30 loose leaf teas, delicious assortment of fresh juices and smoothies, and the requisite roster of espresso drinks makes it easy to find the right delicious bevvie, whether hot or cool. it's scrumptiously geek-friendly and down-to-earth. Enjoy delicious espresso-based beverages made with rich, frothy steamed milk and served in the kind of mug--and with the type of warmth--you'd expect at a friend's house. For some, it is a cosy communal workspace where writer's block is fought over casual food and drink. For others, it's a spot for quiet reading. I think it's a great relaxed hangout for solitary chillin' or group gabbin'. It's just aces in my books.

Hip and ultra-cool, their coffee kicks serious butt. I lived in Rome for a few months back in the day, and there's an essence of that here, but modern - a little more Milano than Roma. There's so much more to rave about: a handsome Italian man is telling me I'm bellissima, the wireless network lets me check my email and get a bit of work done while I sip my perfect latte and manga a delicous panini. I really don't think it gets any better than this. Swoon!

okay - i love the nerd cool of this place. it's not an internet cafe, but just like its name suggests, it is a cafe with an open source software theme, full of books on coding, and plenty of places to park with your laptop and use the free wireless. the sunny windows and great assortment of cheap and delicious organic coffees, vegan and standard baking, grilled sandwiches and smoothies make it a great place to spend a couple of hours. great little patio. great view of the park. friendly staff.
