An excellent place to go when you are craving FRESH in house made greasy diner food. Better quality than most as it is not all processed food and it has a nice ambiance. The poutine and chili fries are awesome! Fresh cut fries, lots of cheese curds, and homemeade chili. YUM YUM!!
I went here twice with my friend. Some people don't like it. The same friend considers it equivalent to the cafeteria at our residence.
But it's so much more than that. :)
They serve nice big hearty breakfasts. The poutine is huge... enormous even and a bit too salty. Maybe you can ask for less salt, risking offending the patron but it's so cheap!
Kitschy-cosy vibe.
Great old place, all full of Detroit Red Wing jerseys and pictures.
Many signed hockey player photos too, so I'm guessing they go there.
I went to try it and liked it after Jim Cuddy from Blue Rodeo mentioned it in Now Magazine.
Try the Hot Hamburger
A real 50's vibe (it's the exact same as when it opened). The owner Terry is a real character and makes for an entertaining meal. Of note: the big banquet burger helps combat the remnants of last night's fun. Sit at the counter for a front-row seat.
Sometimes grease is good for you, and so is random flecks floating in your water, both can be had here.
Whatever doesn't kill you...
Great food, great conversation with cook, George. Greasy all around but terrific!
I can be the only female eating alone amoung 16 old men, and it feels cozy and non-threatening. Kind of like handing out in your basement in the '80s with Phil Collins records playing. But only this time you get some serious white breakfasts (don't expect brilliance) and some suprisingly delicious Chicken Swarma.

The Friday meatloaf special is my favourite lunch of the week!
