Wow. they have really cool gingerbread cookies made to order. the last time i went, they had oprah cookies.
All the dense bread at the restaurants are bought from this particular gem in little italy. shh.
If you can find a seat, it's a great place to grab a coffee and a pastry.
in the ranking of things that I love, macarons are right at the top - in between wikipedia and damask patterns. Not to be confused with coconut 'macarOOn's - macarOns are a french meringue-like pastry made with almonds. Unfortunately, they are near impossible to find in North America. After making multiple trips all over the GTA in search of them, I am absolutely thrilled to find a place that actually makes good ones and is also practically right at my doorstep.
They are famous for their homemade tasting baked pies.
At this particular location, they also sell wholesome take home, homemade tasting dishes and soups.
I took home this ready to eat mango baked salmon fillet that was awesome - such unique take home dishes are what you will find, as well as their famous pies and desserts. great homemade tasting items refined by their culinary expertise.
Because their pies are awesome (especially their shepherds pie)!!
When their meat pies are freshly baked, you can smell it everywhere in the Distillery District. Line ups pile up, everyone eager to get a slice!!
I use to work near there & during lunch, my co- worker and I would go and get variety of pies to share for lunch they were that good !!
I can smell it in the morning when I am running by we love testing the samples that they have and the bread is just delcious!
when you walk in there the smell of the place is like no other. And when you finally get to taste your purchases, you immediately vow that you'll be returning for more soon.

it is the "real deal" - true Italian old school family bakery - the breads and sweet things are so delicious and the coffee is out of this world. If you love gelato ... you are also in for a treat as they have the best gelato as well!
